"Please excuse the curtain. We have a new bird in the exhibit."

The necessary bridge picture.
The Bronx Zoo was established in 1899. Surprised? So was I. Ahem.

Kate can lead us anywhere.

"Please excuse the curtain. We have a new bird in the exhibit."

This is our friend the peacock. I just. I can't. I don't.
I just can't.
The little penguin in the middle was fantastic. He like threw back his head, opened his beak and let out this bellow that sounded not unlike a foghorn. He startled the other penguins. He startled me. I love him.
"Where THE FUCK is Tiger Mountain?!"

"Please excuse the curtain. We have a new bird in the exhibit."

"Let me conquer this little bridge."

"Please excuse the curtain. We have a new bird in the exhibit."

The bears were actually awake, unlike all the other animals.
Kate wanted to smuggle a flamingo out under her coat. I said she needed a bigger coat.
Puffins! These little guys were a highlight, for sure. Not a highlight of the whale watch I went on when I was nine. But a highlight of our zoo trip.

"Please excuse the curtain. We have a new bird in the exhibit."

The tapir, aka The So's favorite animal.
I don't understand people who aren't fall/winter people. This is gorgeous:
I will leave you with an illustration of the Superb Glossy Starling. You are a Superb Glossy Starling. I am a Superb Glossy Starling. Also, I am my own rainbow.
